Jack!" I called. "I mean, umm... REDD!" I ran off towards the trees where he dissapeared. I decided to put my cat skills to good use. I shinned up the tree and stared out across the neighbourhood. Without warning, two ginger cats dropped down daintily. A third cat dropped down with a thump and scrabbled crazily on the bark to try to get back up. The two older cats rolled their eyes and sighed and with one flick of their tails, brought her back up.
"Hi, I'm...." The blue-eyed cat started.
"Angie," Continued the amber eyed one.
"And De-De!" Finished De-De.
"What about me!" The little kit cried from the branch.
"Oh, yeah, this is Gingie..." Angie sneered.
"We're training her..." De-De muttered. They exchanged glances for a millisecond and then burst out manic laughing for no apparent reason.
"Right.... What's so funny?" I asked, suspicious.
"We're not actually training her!" De-De grinned.
"She's following us!" Angie sighed.
"Sounds great..." I lied.
"Its not." De-De snapped, not understanding my sarcasm.
"Oh no! Gingie watch out..." Angie stressed.
"For that tree!" De-De called.
" Oh I will! Don't worry!" Gingie smiled, turning her head towards us. Not watching where she was going, she smashed right into the tree the twins had been warning her about.
"C'mon, I guess you're Makeeda..."
"Interesting name..." Interjected Angie.
"You need to get to Pearl Harbour. The Elder and LightClan are waiting for you!" We all padded down the branches until we could jump downto the ground.
"Away to Pearl Harbour!" Angie announced. Suddenly, a dust cloud rose infront of us, and the shadow of a cat was visible. He padded out, but his face was shadowed, who was it? The blood red marks down his side shone out . The twins hissed and crouched back,in battle position. In a swift move, the disguise was thrown off and Redd leaped out from the dust. At that moment, Angie and De-De stopped and then simutaniously pounced, claws unsheathed.
"Wait!" I cried, trying to block them. "It's Redd!"
"We know!" Angie shouted joyfully and they slashed out, but Redd bocked them both with a single paw.
"Not even hard!" He rejoiced.
"Oh yeah?!" Angie distracted him, while I saw De-De slink behind him and... They both attacked! Claws and paws kicking away, either side of Redd. To my amazement, Redd was not harmed! Around him, I saw a growing green glow. It grew until it circled the twins. His similarly glowing green eyes snapped open and with a battle cry, threw it out, knocking Angie and De-De to their knees.
"Game over!" He called. "In your face! You willnever meet another warrior likeme!" De-De lifted her head from the ground.
"Okay, big fella, no need to boast! You beat S.C.R.A.T.C.H.E.D, fair and square!"
"Remind me,what does that stand for?"
"Like you need reminding! Fine. Swimming, Catching, Running, Athletics, Tree Climbing, Hunting, Espionage and Defense, all our special skills!"
"You guys are great! I still haven't met another cat who can swim!"
The twins came over to me. "Where is Gingie?" De-De asked but before I had time to answer her and Angie weretalking about how grest Redd was how cute he was. I frowned." Redd and cute in the same sentance? Really? Do you even know who he is?" I questioned. Without waiting for an answer I gushed:
"He's Jack Redd he lives at 28 Blueberry Rd and is 13 years old..."
"Weirdo." Angie laughed.
"He's actually Redd,"
"The Warrior,"
"He lives near Pearl Harbour!"
"Not that we follow him! We don't!"
"But yeah,"
"He is 13." Finished De-De.
"Can I help you, ladies?" Said a familiar voice.
"No!" Angie yelled.
"Butt out!" They shouted, obviously joking.
"Makeeda? Can you come here a minute?" He called for the second time today.
We leaped up the tree I'd just come down.
"Did you accept the Warriors Pledge? Y'know, when you changed? You're not a warrior!" Redd fired non-stop questions at me.
"Yes, why? What is it to you!?" I reply, flustered.
"When you accept the Pledge, youmust become a warrior's apprentice! And, I had a chat with The Elder. One: I passed the Warrior training, so I am now a warrior; two: I now need an apprentice myself and three: you just so happened to accept the Pledge, so, as Miss Pea-For-Brains, can you put two and two together?"
"Hi, I'm...." The blue-eyed cat started.
